Mods, modpacks, packs — same thing

The Choicer Voicer doesn't have a separate modding API or a loader to configure. The game was deliberately built as a "blank canvas" — the developer, YeahMaybe, says there's very little content built in, and it's meant to be filled by the community. The way you mod it is by dropping folders into the game's content directories. The community calls those folders "packs"; GameBanana lists them under "Mods". So a "Choicer Voicer mod" is a pack, a "modpack" is usually a compilation pack, and installing any of them means the same thing: download, unzip, drop the folder in the right place.

That also means there's no risk of breaking the game. Packs are just audio, video and metadata files the game scans at launch — if one doesn't work, delete its folder and you're back to normal. No load order, no conflicts, no save-file corruption.

Every type of Choicer Voicer mod

Here's what's actually out there, based on the 1099 community mods indexed on this site:

  • Dub Mode packs (970 indexed) — the overwhelming majority. Video scenes you re-voice line by line, added in game version 0.5. Everything from anime fights to cursed memes. See the dub packs page.

  • Tools — actual software mods: community-built pack editors that generate the INI timing metadata for you, and a multiplayer co-op mod that adds the online play the official game doesn't have. Where mods come from: GameBanana

GameBanana's Choicer Voicer section is the single source of truth — it's where creators upload, update and describe their work. This site is a search index over that section, nothing more: every card links to the mod's official GameBanana page, downloads go through GameBanana, and authors keep their credit and their download counts. We never re-host pack files.

Two safety notes. First, this index only includes packs without the NSFW flag — roughly a quarter of the community's packs are marked NSFW and are left out entirely, so everything listed here is safe for family game nights. Second, steer clear of "all packs in one zip" bundles on file-sharing sites: they strip author credit, go stale within days, and occasionally carry things nobody asked for. Individual downloads from GameBanana take seconds anyway.

How fresh is this index?

Very. The Choicer Voicer modding scene is in the middle of a boom — the majority of all packs ever made were published within the last month, driven by streamer clips and Dub Mode's arrival in version 0.5. This index re-syncs with GameBanana every day: new mods appear here within 24 hours of upload, and mods removed by their authors disappear too. Whatever you find here was live on GameBanana at the last sync, so you're never chasing a dead listing.

How to install mod packs

  1. Find the mod in our directory and open its GameBanana page.
  2. Download the ZIP and extract it.
  3. Move the folder into packs_voice for voice-type mods, or into the dub folder for Dub Mode packs. Tools are standalone programs — run those separately.
  4. Restart the game and select the new content in-game.

If a pack doesn't show up after a restart, it's almost always one of three things: a double-nested folder, the wrong destination folder, or a game version older than 0.5 trying to load a dub pack. The installation guide covers all three with screenshots of the folder structure.

Making your own mods

The modding barrier here is famously low — "as easy as dropping audio files into a folder", in the developer's words. Record clips, name them, drop them in a folder, and you've made a voice mod. Dub Mode packs add a video file and an INI timing sheet on top; our creation guide walks through the whole pipeline, and the community tools mentioned above can generate the metadata for you. Upload the result to GameBanana and it will appear in this index automatically.

One caution before your first session: the game has a known microphone-recording bug on some systems. Run the browser mic test before you blame your new mod, and keep the microphone fix guide bookmarked.
